Javier Truchero, a iusLab partner, participated this week in a series of events organized in Kiev by the Council of Europe’s project «Preventing and Combating violence against women in Ukraine».
Ukraine currently undergoes an extensive process of reform in many different policy areas, one of them being violence against women. On 7 November 2011 Ukraine signed the Istanbul Convention and is currently working towards its ratification. In order to achieve that end, the Council of Europe has launched an extensive project, funded by Sweden, to assist Ukrainian authorities in making the necessary changes.
Javier Truchero delivered a presentation on the requirements of the Istanbul Convention in a workshop attended by civil society and government officials.
